About the Item

Antique 19th Century Victorian solid silver pair of novelty grotesque salts. Expertly cast and modelled to depict contrasting expressions—one smiling and the other frowning. Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, year 1880 (E), Maker's mark L.D (Louis Dee). Louis Dee was a noted silversmith active around 1880, recognised for his exceptional craftsmanship in the production of fine silverware during the Victorian era.
