Fine and Rare 17th Century Nuremberg Silver Gilt Goblet and Cover

About the Item

Rare 17th century silver gilt Nuremberg covered goblet with overall knobbed decoration, weight 300 grams, circa 1650. Hallmarked "N" for Nuremberg on rim of goblet. Unresearched maker's hallmark on foot. Similar pieces can be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. A lovely example of 17th century European silversmithing.
