Pair Of Art Nouveau Silver Centerpieces With Glass Bowls, Vienna, Circa 1900

About the Item

Two elegant silver centerpieces on a high, round, stepped base with a floral relief band, on four divided feet with palmette frieze, on top of which four slender fluted columns arranged in a square, crowned by a projecting silver bowl with a floral relief band running around the middle between two flat oval panels placed opposite each other. Fitted, widely projecting glass inserts with incised lamellae, lens cut and ground star. Hallmarks: Diana's head - Vennese official hallmark 1872-1922 for 800 Silver Master's mark 'F.S' for FRANZ SCHLESINGER, Gold- and silversmith, Trade license 1889 (Schlesinger & Perlberg company) Bibliography: Waltraud Neuwirth, Wiener Gold-und Silberschmiede und ihre Punzen (= Viennese Gold-and Silversmiths and their signs), vol.
