Silver & Guilloche Enamel Art Nouveau Silver Buckle

About the Item

An exceptional and stunning Art Nouveau silver buckle inset with guilloche enamels made by W E Patterson, Birmingham and dated 1908. The rectangular buckle is of the finest quality with the fat facing edges inset with patterned purple enamels within a fine raised decorative silver border and with light blue enamels to the outer edge. The centre bar with three curved and pointed prongs swivels on a tubular centre with a further swivelling bar beneath to connect the belt. The buckle has impressed makers marks for W E Patterson along with Birmingham assay marks and date marks for 1908. A wonderful example in very fine condition. Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market In good condition with light wear associated with age and use.
