An antique Japanese Meiji era enamel over brass charger plate

About the Item

An antique Japanese Meiji era enamel over brass charger plate. The plate is enameled with a polychrome image of naturalistic butterflies and a bird sitting on a branch in blossoming flowers on blue ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The border is decorated with a polychrome scrollwork motif made in the same technique. The backside is adorned with a foliage pattern made using the same technique. Circa: late 19th century. Dimensions: D 11 3/4 in. All measurements are approximate. Condition Overall good antique condition. Signs of wear and Age. Refer to photos.
