About the Item

These two knives were made by Carl Aubock - designer/manufacturer. They have a marking on the blade. They are made of stainless steel (also visible on the blade) and walnut wood, as well as two metall rivets each. Vintage style. They date from approximately 1930-1940 and are in very good condition. This vintage item has no defects, but may show slight signs of wear. Historians place Carl Auböck's artistic works close to the art movements of Surrealism and Kineticism. Collectors appreciate the humorous Viennese lightness of his design ideas and the exceptionally high-quality execution, which largely defy international comparison. His achievements as a product designer in the field of home decor and as a visual artist have been recognized through numerous exhibitions and awards: In 1933, he received a Commendation at the World's Fair in Chicago. Choosing antique or vintage furniture reduces your carbon footprint by creating less waste, reducing the demand for new materials, and extending the lifespan of the products we use.
