Set 9 French Provincial dessert cheese Plates Luneville

About the Item

9 French Luneville faience transferware plates also known as assiette parlante or talking dish. They come from the east of France. They are marked on the underside with a red printed Luneville mark used since 1892 and impressed codes. They are inscribed on the front "Farceurs de Campagne " 1 plate " As-tu fini d'faire des yeux comme ca, tu vas tournair mon lait! " (black printed Luneville mark) 2 plates : " C’est pas moi qui serai jamais amoureux au point d’en perdre le boire et le manger. " 2 plates : A m'n'avis t'es la plus belle fille du canton. - Et au mien, t'es ben l'plus vilain'' (one of this plate have a crack on the back, see photo) 2 plates : "- Méfiez-vous, la rivière est infectée de sangsues. - ça m'est recommandé" 1 plate : " -J'ons été réformé pour un obus que j'ai reçu dans le dos et qu'on a pu extraire" 1 plate : "C'est toi qu'à fait ça ? sans te vanter, pus malin que toi, n'est as bête" Dimension : 19,5cm (7,4'')
