About the Item

Four unusual and elegant Dutch Art Deco or slightly later ceramic tiles from the early 1920s to 1940s approx.. Genuine hand made and hand painted in a square shape, these tiles feature peasants and country scenes such as a fisherman, a farmer carrying a sack, likely to the windmill on the next tile, all related to the water. The colour scheme is a classic Dutch mix of subtle natural tones. Craquelures all over. Beautiful also the corner decor held in a reddish black. Marked ''Made in Holland''. The thickness of the tiles varies slightly between 8-9 mm.
