A fine and impressive antique Georgian Newcastle sterling silver sauce boat made by John Langlands I & John Robertson I; an addition to our silver dining collection.
This exceptional antique George III sterling silver gravy boat has a plain oval rounded form onto three scrolling feet.
The surface of this antique gravy boat is plain and embellished with the contemporary engraved initials 'I.F'.
The upper portion of the body features an embossed scalloped shaped rim.
The gravy boat is fitted with a fine opposing scroll handle with a scrolling leaf decorated thumbpiece.
This impressive example of Georgian silverware is supported by three impressive applied scrolling hoof style feet with impressive shell motifs in junction with the body.
This exceptional gravy boat is crafted by the renowned Newcastle silversmiths John Langlands I &; John Robertson I.
Condition
This antique silver sauce boat is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition for its type. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body are all very clear.
