Three Bronze + One Sterling Silver Modernist Table Items
About the Item
The bronze tray ($1200 13" x 9") is by Ed Weiner, noted American mid-century metal artist, most known for his avant garde jewelry designs. The hand hammered tray has a unique biomorphic form, with a an etched bark design edge and abstract cuneiform-like raised pattern throughout the center. It is stamped 'Handmade Ed Weiner 50" to the underside.
The bark design centerpiece bowl ($1350) was handcast by Kai Blomqvist, an important Danish sculptor of the 1960s. He is most known for his bark glass vases, and his bronze work is rare and highly prized. It is signed to the underside.
The 9" bronze bud vase is by Chicago sculpture Harold Kerr ($950), and also dates to the 1960s. The abstract drip form lip has a wonderful red patination to the bronze. It is stamped 'Kerr' to the underside.
Finally, the 12" sterling vase with exaggerated center crinkled center is by Swedish silversmith Rolf Karlsson ($1800). The design dates to 1973, but this vase was commissioned in 1990. It is fully hallmarked and signed by the artist. Items are priced individually.
