About the Item

An antique Japanese enamel porcelain tea set. Features a captivating bird and floral design meticulously executed in the intricate cloisonne technique. The set includes a teapot, a lidded sugar bowl, a creamer, and a tea cup with saucer, each piece adorned with the same enchanting motif. All the pieces are signed with Japanese characters underneath. Circa Early Meiji 1865 Dimensions: Saucers D 4 1/2 in. Cup H 2 in. Teapot H 5 1/2 in. All measurements are approximate. Condition Overall good antique condition. Signs of wear and Age. Refer to photos.

A large antique Japanese late Meiji era covered Totai enamel on porcelain ginger jar. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. The ware is enameled with a polychrome fan shaped medallions with blossoming flowers, and butterflies, surrounded by floral and butterfly wings patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The cover of the ware is decorated with a polychrome image of a flower surrounded by floral, foliage, and butterfly wings made in the same technique. The neck, the base, and the lid are adorned with polychrome geometrical, and floral motifs made in the same technique. Signed with red ink hieroglyphs, on the bottom.
