About the Item

A rare tea service consisting of a teapot, cookie bowl and 4 cups. The shape starts of as a square at the bottom and transform fluently into a circle at the top. All pieces features monochrome glazes in burnt/caramel orange and creme pastel. This set was designed by one of the most prolific midcentury female designers Nanna Ditzel in the late 1960s. It was only manufactured for a couple of years by Søholm in Denmark. All 6 pieces are stamped: Design: Nanna Ditzel and most of them feature the design number in overgrazes as well. Measurements: Cups: H: 8 cm, D: 8 cm, Bowl: W/D: 21,5 cm, H: 4.5 cm. The teapot has a capacity of 0.7 liter and the measurements are provided below.

    Wear consistent with age and use. The 4 cups and the cookie bowl/dish are very well preserved and intact only with very light superficial ware. The teapot is very useable, intact, but shows crazings (hairline superficial cracks to the glaze, ca 0.5 mm. Slight discoloration to the ins.
