Amazing vintage Moroccan Caftan, green silk velvet with embroidered gold threads trim, Circa 1960's The dark green velvet kaftan has been hand-sewn and intricately embroidered with gold threads rim and was entirely embellished by hand adding beads and pearls to the front dress, to the sleeves but also to the back. One of a kind evening antique Moorish style vintage maxi dress. The Moroccan kaftan features a traditional neckline, embellished sleeves and back. It closes at the front with woven buttons and loops and the buttons open and close. In Morocco, fashion preserves its traditional style inherited from great civilizations that found their way to Northwest Africa, such as the ottomans and the Turks. Moroccan fashion has been recognized for its style and has garnered a reputation, winning awards in international fashion shows throughout Europe. Marrakech Bohemian, Yves Saint Laurent style. This luxury caftan is in good condition, dry cleaned and ready to wear. Dress measurement flat: Size: small to Medium, Unisex. Shoulder 16" (seam to seam) Sleeve 22" (shoulder seam to cuff) Chest 18" (armpit to armpit) Waist 19" (narrowest point) Hip 21" (measured 6" below waist) Total length 56" (centre back to hem; excluding collar) Hand crafted by an unknown artist designer, this is a one of a kind caftan, inspired by the tales of princess of the Arabian Nights. The Kaftan is a long tunic, collarless, long-sleeved, worn by man and women. The Moroccan kaftans inspired European and global designers as Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, and many more who made the caftan famous in the 1960s and 1970s. Hand made in Morocco.
