About the Item

19th century carved walnut effeminacy male figure We are proud to offer a unique and highly decorative 19th century hand carved walnut figure of an effeminacy male form. Unusual in its figurative posture and detail. This includes the figure standing in a side on pose with flirtatious gesture, a loosely draped over shoulder silk sheet, female form breasts and overly masculine facial details. This item is heavily patinated due to its age. This figure may have at some point in its lifetime have been part for a larger wall carving. This item is untouched in form and would make an amazing addition to any serious curiosity cabinet collection, or even as a stand-alone piece of sculpture art, one thing is for sure, that it will make a great conversational artifact. Size in inches: H 11” x W 6” x D 5” Origin: European Period: 19th century Material: Walnut Condition: This item is completely solid in structure and form, an aged patina across all its surface has taken place. Aged repair to the feet is also present but finished respectfully to the carved form. The reverse has an old hanging hole, which has been filled many years ago. This leads us to assume this item could have originally been part of a larger wall carving. There are light scuffs and aged marks as you would expect from an item that’s over 100 years old. Close up photos have been supplied to illustrate these points so please observe carefully.
