About the Item
A large Great Western Railway 'Station Master' sign.
A wonderful antique sign, in thick timber & in its original iron frame with cast iron lettering & all original paint. With the perfect amount of wear & some beautiful iron work brackets remaining, a super decorative piece & so exceptionally original. Of all the Great Western timber signs, this elusive Station Master variety is probably the most difficult to find, an extremely good thing!
One of three, the group including, 'Way Out' & 'General waiting Room'. Of all the railway signs I've had over the years, this group of three are the most exceptionally original & aesthetically pleasing I've had.
Early 20th century
Wear commensurate with age, good condition overall, completely untouched original condition, never even cleaned, just as found. Brackets could be removed for a flush wall mount.
