About the Item

20th Century Agate and Silver earrings by Jewels Four rare hair ornaments carved in agate, called Tanfouk or Talhakimt, drop from a copper and silver disk for a pair of lightweight earrings. These ornaments were worn by women in Mali and Mauritania and are found across Islamic Africa. They are regarded a love charms by the Tuareg, incorporating the feminine ring and the masculine arrow.
