Kanuri-Hausa Headdress, "burtu" Kanuri-Hausa, Nigeria Headdress, "burtu Kanuri-Hausa, Nigeria wood leather horn. H 42 cm. Provenance : - Swedish private collection. Hunting mask mainly used by the peoples of northern Nigeria, in the shape of a raven's head, attached to a leather-covered wooden frame and fitted with a leather band to secure the object to the forehead.
