20th Century Tobia Scarpa for Flos Pendant Lamp mod. Fior di Loto

About the Item

Tobia Scarpa is an Italian designer and architect. He is known for his furniture design that melds cutting-edge technology, ergonomic function, and cultural history. After graduating, he began working with his wife and collaborator Afra Scarpa, with whom he produced numerous important designs. In the 1960 they collaborate for the birth of the Flos Company, for which they have created numerous lamps. Many important commissions from Cassina, B&B, Gavina and Fabbian in their production of armchairs, chairs and sofa. The designer’s career has been long and prolific, filled with significant honors, including the Compasso d'Oro Award in 1969 and The International Forum Design Hanover Award in 1992. Here a suspension Lamp mod. Fior di Loto designed by Tobia Scarpa and produced by Flos. This refined lamp mainly diffuses indirect lighting thanks to the meticulously perforated patterns that adorn both sides of its body. Gracefully suspended, the socket hangs from a white thread, which hides a delicate metal cord for easy height adjustment. We can rewired the light system on US standards upon request.
