About the Item
Brass chandelier by Itsu of Finland. Mid-20th century.
A high-quality cascading chandelier featuring three shades made of brass - white on the inside - arranged at different heights. The original ceiling canopy is in place and the fixture has the Itsu stamp on the top of the shades. This design, model ER 94/3, appears in the company's catalogue, 1950s, and for us is a very nice example of Scandinavian Modern design.
The piece is old and has been used and there are signs of wear which we have left unpolished and as found. Flaws include dings, slight ovaling, scratches and losses to the lacquer over the brass - leaving darker tones - and yellowing and losses to the white paint inside the shades, particularly in the upper half near and above the bulb. See images for overview and zoom in for examples of details (or just contact us if you require more). We have categorised the piece as in fair condition to draw attention to these points; that said for us the lamp is still a nice vintage piece with a warm tone to the metal.
Wiring:
The original wiring will need to be replaced locally prior to install, and we advise low heat bulbs to protect the fixture for the future.

- Condition:Replacements made: Possible replacement of a couple of cable-keepers (not visible in use). Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor structural damages. Minor fading. Losses to the lacquer over the brass leaving darker areas; losses to the interior paint; this light will require new wiring prior to install to suit your local needs and regulations.
