About the Item
A simple circular light by Hans Agne Jakobsson, Sweden, mid-20th century.
The light is made of aluminium, lacquered off white, with 8 cylindrical tube down-lighters. The light is designed to be fitted to a ceiling hook and raised further into place by tightening the brass finial. Possibly designed as a flush mount; we have shown this piece as a pendant light, hanging from a chain (not included), as an alternative presentation.
The light has nice aged but original character with fading and losses to the lacquer (notably around the ceiling plate). Each of the eight tubes is fitted through a shade-ring on the bulb holder within, and can be removed for cleaning if required; the tones of the tubes are very slightly different to one another. New wiring will be required to suit your local needs. Label to ceiling plate. For us this is great example of Scandinavian modern design.
