About the Item

Minimalistische Deckenleuchte des dänischen Herstellers Poulsen. Die Leuchte besteht aus drei Elementen: dem Sockel mit Fassung, dem ringförmigen Schirm und dem gewölbten Diffusorglas. Der Schirm lässt sich über einen Bajonettverschluss am Sockel montieren. Das Diffusorglas wird einfach eingelegt. Der Sockel zeigt im Inneren Rand noch dunkelgraue Reste der Originalfarbe des Schirms. Da die Originalfarbe nicht zu restaurieren war, wurde das Aluminium auf hochglanz poliert. Die spiegelnde Oberfläche setzt zusätzliche Akzente und gibt der Leuchte ein imposantes Erscheinungsbild. Die Leuchte ist in einem sehr guten Zustand mit Gebrauchsspuren. Die Oberfläche des Schirms wurde von einem Kunsthandwerker auf hochglanz poliert. This piece has an attribution mark, Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The fixture design is based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades are made of hand-blown, opal, three-layer glass, which is glossy on top and sandblasted matte on the underside, giving a soft and uniform light distribution. Poul Henningsen designed the three-shade system during 1925/1926. The first lights using the system were designed for an exhibition in Paris. His work with Louis Poulsen continued until his death in 1967.
