Paavo Tynell, oversized chandelier circa 1940, Opal & brass.
About the Item
Impressive oversized chandelier design by Paavo Tynell and produced by Idamn. The drawing of the lamp is dated by 1949 and the production occured just after that. The lamp is composed by a large Opal glass ( 59 cm diameter / 23,3 inch ) and an elegant brass decoration on the bottom of it with the typical brass Tynell ring. Drawing by the artist available on demand.
This piece is a execptional rarity in Paavo Tynell work and has never been mass produced. The lamp is stamp by the editor Idman. Paavo Tynell is one of the leading designer of the scandinavian movement along side with Axel Einar Hjorth or Josef Frank. He also worked closely in finland with Alvar Aalto or lisa johansson pape during the middle of the XX century. The lamp is in really good condition. The pipe can be adjusted if you need it longer or smaller.
