About the Item

Unique set of four pendant lamps by Mathieu Matégot. The pendant consists of downturned hemispherical shade complete with original two-part prismatic glass lens, suspended from a conical perforated steel stem in its original cream paint that is still very good! This piece is a well-known design that is well documented in general design literature. The four pendants are in surprisingly good condition with very limited traces of use.

Beautifully patinated ceiling lamp with lots of resemblance with the work of Hans Agne Jacobsson but then more beautiful. Great shadowplay and warm vibrant light. Both the copper and the brass are very nicely patinated creating an organge / red light. Interesting geometrical figures and cleverly built: the source of light (the bulb) is hidden inside the lamp so don't expect a sea of light coming out of this one. For cosy corners...
