This stunning and finer quality Art Deco ceiling lamp was realized by glass studio Léon Auguste Hugue (Paris, 1878 – Clichy-la-Garenne, 1970) who began his career as a bronze fitter. In 1907, he established his own bronze lighting manufacturing business at 14 rue Pierre Levée. In 1913, he created a new limited partnership, "L. Hugue, fabrique de bronzes et d’appareils d’éclairage," at number 10 in the same street. The business grew, and around 1925, he set up a factory at 68 rue des Rondeaux, where he worked with the help of his son Maurice Léon, also a bronze fitter. Amazing Mid Century White and Crystal "Tessuto" Murano Glass Chandelier. This wonderful object was produced in Italy in the 70s by Venini.
Woven Glass created by Carlo Scarpa for Venini in the 1930s; similar to filigree but obtained using very thin reeds joined with alternating colors and flattened to form strips similar to fabric ribbons, joined and manipulated to obtain the desired design.
This is an exceptionally beautiful chandelier due to the state of the piece, the size of the light but above all the subtlety of the Tessuto Murano Glass.
A stunning piece of lighting with infinite elegance that will complement an art deco or mid-century living room or entryway perfectly.
The Chandelier uses a single E26/27 light bulb.
Scarpa was born in Venice. Much of his early childhood was spent in Vicenza, where his family moved when he was 2 years old. After his mother's death at the age of 13, he moved with his father and brother to Venice. Carlo attended the Academy of Fine Arts where he concentrated on architectural studies. Graduated from the Academy of Venice, with the title of Professor of Architecture, he was apprenticed to the architect Francesco Rinaldo. Scarpa married Rinaldo's niece, Nini Lazzari (Onorina Lazzari).

A pair of fantastic and rare floor lamps model 'Glasschaft' (engl. 'glass rod'), no. 2134 by J.T. Kalmar, Austria, Vienna, manufactured in midcentury, circa 1960.
The base is made of polished brass and the stand is made of a twisted clear glass rod which was produced in Italy, very likely from Venini.
Each light has four sockets for medium screw base bulbs type E26/E27. In detail there are three bulbs with max. 60W per bulb and one bulb upwards directed within an aluminium reflector with max. 200W for indirect lighting. These bulbs can be switched on separately with two pull switches. The light works well with LED or filament bulbs.
The lamp shades have been renewed and are covered with a natural white textile. Other colors, sizes and forms of the lamp shades can be customized.
