20th Century, Pietro Chiesa Floor Lamp Mod. Luminator Fontana Arte 1st Edition

About the Item

Luminator was one of the first projects designed by Pietro Chiesa, who already owned a workshop in Milan specializing in the artistic working of glass, for Fontana Arte, where he became artistic director alongside Gio Ponti. The first floor lamp with indirect lighting, Luminator is composed of a thin metal stem that opens like a cone and houses the light source. The only element that rests on a circular base, it is a lamp of an almost abstract rigor and purity. Absolutely one of the most extraordinary pieces designed by Pietro Chiesa. This item is a quiet rare example of the 1st edition, realized in 1930s, the basement is in concrete. Good condition, patina of time, fully working and totally original. The light can be rewired for US standards upon request.
