About the Item
This absolutely breathtaking French Art Deco Neoclassic floor lamp is nothing short of a magnificent work of art. Constructed of bronze cast metal the base of the lamp boasts lions perched on beautiful green onyx with veins persimmon running through it. The base shows three bronze button feet. Just up from the lions are a circle of women and children that appear to be dancing in a circle around the pole with the lions protecting them below. This sculpted piece appears to be done in a gilt plaster and secured into the bronze. As you move up the pole to the two sockets, you’ll notice an intricate and most unusual foliage motif that wraps the entire pole. This lamp is very heavy and is quite amazing. It would look beautiful with so many different shade styles and fit into so many different room decors. - Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Lamp is in great condition. It is very heavy! The sculpted gilt plaster should be treated with delicate intentions as the material is not as durable as the bronze and onyx! But, nonetheless, the lamp is in wonderful condition.
