Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. Alabaster floor lamp

About the Item

A highly quality and most impressive Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. Alabaster floor lamp. This stunning floor lamp is supported on a circular stepped base with dentil patterns. The socle above the base is decorated with three winged mermaids and connected by swaging berried garlands. Above the three winged maidens is a carved foliate socle that presents an upward tapering midsection designed with swaging garlands attached by bowed ribbons. Atop the midsection are three seated winged cherubs playing musical instruments and their legs crossed. The top displays finely carved acanthus leaves, two beaded bands, and a mottled top edge.
