About the Item

George Carwardine (Designer), UK Herbert Terry & Sons (manufacturer), UK Anglepoise lamp, model 1227, manufactured 1938-68 Original factory mottled paint finish, chromed metal fittings, felt to underside of base. Original Bakelite bulb fitting/switch. Re-wired and fully functioning. Standard bayonet bulb fitting (UK bulb provided). This lamp is in good original condition with only light marks and tarnish. Moulded manufacturer’s mark to lower stand Originally designed in 1932, this model 1227 is an early two-stepped base version, and dates from the pre-war or early post-war period, c.1938-48. Please note: We have a range of Anglepoise lamps available and can supply them fully functioning with various combinations of fitting, switch, and cable. With this early mottled version, we have tested and retained the original bulb fitting. However, we can also supply with brass or chrome metal fittings with/without top and/or inline switch and choice of plastic or braided cable (two or three core depending on switch version). Please let us know when ordering. There is no extra charge for this but please allow an additional 5 working days for the work to be carried out.
