About the Item

This is a very unique table lamp made by hand with a blue glaze. Impressive measurements. Lamps are very hard to find from this artist, a real must have. This is a real lamp not a vase that was transformed later. You can see the glaze around the cable hole. A signature under the base. Made by hand by Master ceramicist Berndt Friberg who was master ceramicist turner at Gustavsberg studio. All original and untouched. Berndt Friberg started working as a handyman at Höganäsbolaget where he stayed until 1918. In the same year he traveled to Denmark and made a short visit to Møller & Bøgely. In 1919 he returned to Sweden and took a job at Raus Stenkärlsfabrik in Helsingborg and stayed there for a year. In 1934 he came to the Gustavsberg porcelain factory, where he worked until his death in 1981. Friberg was widely renowned for his skill and received many prizes for his work. He worked under Wilhelm Kåge and Stig Lindberg, among others, but also produced his own original works, which today command a high value among collectors. His ceramics were distinguished by classical forms and intricate glazes such as "harp fur" and "Aniara. Friberg also became known for his twisted miniatures, some only a few centimeters high. His artistry is represented at the National Museum, the Modern Museum, the Örebro County Museum and the Röhsska Museum. Friberg's ashes are scattered in the memorial grove at Gustavsberg's cemetery.

Eva Stæhr-nielsen Unique Big Green Table Lamp, Saxbo Denmark, 1950s
By Eva Stæhr Nielsen, Saxbo
Located in Forest, BE
This is a very unique table lamp with a nice shade of green glaze. Its a higher piece than usual. This is a real lamp not a vase that was transformed later. You can see the glaze around the cable hole on the detail picture. A signature under the base. Made by hand by Master ceramicist Eva Stæhr-Nielsen at famous Danish Saxbo atelier. The lamp shade (34.4 x H24.2cm) received a new white stripped cotton (by Audrey). The feet (34 x 13cm diameter) was professionally cleaned by a craftsman (her name is Sophie).
