Very beautiful creation and rustic chic design aesthetic. France circa 1930s. Height: 27.56" /. 70 cm Diameter: 418.11" / 46 cm About Charles Dudouyt: Charles Dudouyt (1885–1946) was a French furniture designer and artist known for his distinctive contribution to 20th-century design, particularly during the Art Deco and early Modernist periods. His work was characterized by a harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics, often showcasing intricate geometric patterns, bold lines, and the use of high-quality materials. Dudouyt often used richly textured woods such as oak, emphasizing natural beauty and durability. He sometimes incorporated wrought iron and other materials to add a sculptural dimension to his designs. His furniture frequently featured hand-carved details, symmetrical patterns, and sculptural elements, reflecting an artisanal touch. While influenced by the Art Deco style, his designs retained a rustic quality that set them apart from the sleek, industrial look of some contemporaries. Dudouyt's creations are highly collectible today, celebrated for their artistic merit and craftsmanship. They are often seen as bridging the gap between traditional French decorative arts and the more modernist movements of the early 20th century. Dudouyt's work, whether in dining tables, chairs, or lighting, carries a timeless appeal, making it a favorite among collectors and interior designers who appreciate vintage and classic French furniture.
