Chinese Qing Dynasty Large Monochrome Mieping Vase Mounted as a Lamp

About the Item

This very large Chinese Qing Dynasty monochrome Mieping vase with a Yongzheng reign mark mounted as a lamp is in a rich bottle green while marked with a Yongzheng (1722- 1735) reign mark in underglaze blue using Kaishu six character script within two blue circles we believe it to be from circa 1880 with the mark being apocryphal but never the less still a Qing dynasty product. The Mieping was especially designed to hold the flower branches of Trees and was created to have a large broad base with heavy potted walls from the parts used and the old rosewood base we believe the conversation took place in or circa 1925. The glaze is a very rich color and the runny dripping color is dynamic flowing and lustrous. The piece is further enhanced by a fine and very delicate crackalure which is almost invisible within the color ground. All the lamp parts have been maintained but the internal workings have been changed out to new fittings and new French wrapped silk wire has been used to rewire the lamp. It comes with a nephrite jade finial and a new pleated silk shade.
