Pair of Chinese Style Enameled Gilt Porcelain Temple Jar Lamps

About the Item

Gilt touches and hand-painted flowers and fauna in the form of a contented little bird perched on a branch, help this pair of lamps stand out. The decoration seems slightly more "Western" to the appraiser than the more pure Asian aesthetic of other vases in our collection, but compelling nonetheless. The canvas for this dramatic pair is a set of large white porcelain temple jar lamps. The lamps are squared and of baluster form, resting on a squared wood ebonized base. These are very large cylindrical or tube shape lampshades that are black with gold lining. The lamps are on a three-way switch and they are in excellent condition. They have their original finials. Dimensions: The lamps measure 35 inches from base to top of finial. They are 22 inches tall from base to top of the socket. They are 7 inches wide at the base and 7 inches deep.
