About the Item

An exceptional and stylish pair of midcentury Italian Murano glass electric table lamps, circa 1950s-1960s The bulbous body in clear ribbed glass, below a very heavy gauge egg-form glass shade, part clear and part rich red, supported by a shaped Lucite block base with swirling gilt accents inside and a circular ormolu metal plate, raised on their original circular gilt feet. Condition: Superb condition, original electric wiring in perfect working order. The moveable globes can be positioned to taste, these Lamps are unmarked but are firmly attributed to Venini Glass Factory in Murano region of Italy. Measures: Height: (entire as shown) 15.5” (39cm), width (at base) 6” (14.5cm), depth (at base) 5” (12.5cm). Location: Dublin City, Ireland. Provenance: Purchased in Southern Italy. Believed to have been custom created by Venini for a Gentleman’s residence in Lake Como. We have been unable to find a similar pair anywhere.
