About the Item
Pair of beech and white acrylic lamps circa 1980, signed by Alain Gaubert.
Alain Gaubert was a French cabinetmaker popular for his meditation stool "Shoggi" produced during the 1980s,
This pair of lamp is a much rarer item, produced in the same era, with clear Japanese inspirations in the design, a simple and functional design that offers a soft light.
The lamps are in excellent condition, no real traces of use to note, both are signed under the base with a hot iron stamp.
Alain Gaubert was a contemporary of Pierre Chapo, his works in furniture, seating and lighting are reminescent of his works as well as pieces from other French cabinetmaker of that era that adopted a similar style, such as Maison Regain or Seltz.
