Pair of "Fontana piccola" lamps (1853) by Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte - Italy
By Max Ingrand, Fontana Arte
Located in Padova, IT
Designed in 1954 by the French glassmaker and decorator Max Ingrand, this precious white satin blown glass lamp was initially called "1853" and later "Fontana" in homage to the manufacturer. Max Ingrand was in fact the Artistic Director of this company for over ten years. In the world of design "1853" is still today the distinctive name of the object. Object with an iconic and timeless design, Fontana has earned the title of "bedside lamp par excellence". Max Ingrand, whose full name was Maurice Max-Ingrand (Bressuire, December 20, 1908 - Paris, August 25, 1969), was a French glassmaker, decorator and designer. He is known for having created the stained glass windows of numerous churches in France and abroad and for having been the artistic director of the Italian lamp company...
