About the Item

Vilhelm Lauritzen 'VL45' Radiohus Portable Table Lamp in Pale Rose Glass Originally designed in the 1930s by Vilhelm Lauritzen for the construction of the Radiohuset building in Copenhagen, this new portable lamp from Louis Poulsen features three layers of handblown glossy glass. The shade is then capped with a brushed brass top and leather handle, both of which will develop a natural patina. The result is a portable and uniform illumination from a timeless design that brings beauty to any space and whether it is powered on or off. Price is per item. Available to order in unlimited quantities in choice of opal white, pale yellow or pale pink shades, as well as pendants in a limited edition pale pink version, amber and pale yellow, or the original white opaline version - please see our separate listings. This listing is for the VL45 Radiohus portable table lamp in pale rose glass. First available in Summer 2025. In-stock and available for fulfillment within 1-5 days. Out-of-stock lead time can add up to 8 weeks or more. Please note inventory availability and lead time are subject to change without notice. Please contact us for current lead time prior to placing time-sensitive orders. Illuminated by an integrated dim-to-warm LED offering 2700K and a maximum 270 lumens. The internal battery is re-charged by the included USB-C cord and provides up to 38 hours of continuous use (38 hours at 5%, 13 hours at 36%, 7 hours at 45%, 5 hours at 100% brightness). Arne Jacobsen AJ Oxford table lamp 280mm in black and opaline for Louis Poulsen. Designed in 1963, current production. The AJ Oxford table lamp has a sleek graphic expression, which reflects the architecture of St Catherine's College, in Oxford, for which it was originally designed. St Catherine's College, inaugurated in 1963, was designed by Arne Jacobsen in a modernist architectural style, which stands in contrast with the surrounding classical architecture of Oxford University. The AJ Oxford Table Lamp was first designed as a table pin lamp for the impressive dining hall at the college, which housed long rows of oak tables, seating 350 people. The table lamps act as centrepieces on the tables, while natural light comes from clerestory windows and the wall-mounted AJ Eklipta provides diffused general lighting. The lamp is still found at St Catherine's College, which is still in use today, both for teaching and as a halls of residence for students. The AJ Oxford lamp...
