French 7 Ft Tall Over-Mantle Mirror w/Nicely Appointed Gilt Accents
About the Item
A French painted and carved wood trumeau-style mirror from the mid 20th century. This mid-century mirror from France, has a vertical-rectangular shape, and features a nicely molded upper cornice, elegant trimmings in gilt with a undulating pattern with leafy accents embellish the top panel, while egg-n-dart and lamb's tongue molding outline the edges of the inner and outer surround. It is a nicely sized mirror, approximately 7 feet in height, and over 4.5 feet in width. Note that there are some older vintage, as well as other elements that seem older than the mirror itself. This mid 20th century French over-mantle mirror would be a wonderful way to emphasize height in a room with tall ceilings.
