About the Item
A large and impressive painted and gilt mirror dating to the last quarter of the 18th Century. Green painted and having applied carved and gilt cartouche and floral mouldings the upper panel inset with an oil on canvas depicting a crane And wolf warily drinking from the same garden pool.
Dimensions: 56” high by 37.5” wide by 2” deep.
Condition: Professionally restored. Various signs of age remain including craklure to the paint surround as well as the painting itself, gilt and paint losses mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is very fine.
