A French Louis XVI style painted trumeau mirror from the 19th century with trysting lovers painted scene and gilt accents. This exquisite Louis XVI style trumeau mirror features a blue/green background, allowing the exquisite painted scene and gilt accents to stand out beautifully. The upper section features a giltwood frame, adorned with a Louis XVI knot on the crest, twisted ribbons and rais-de-coeur motifs. The painted pastoral scene showcases two trysting lovers sitting in front of a barn. The lower section is made of the mirror plate, surrounded by a giltwood frame echoing the same motifs than the top. With its pure lines and exquisite carved and painted décor, this Louis XVI style 19th century trumeau mirror will enliven any home beautifully, perhaps placed above an enfilade or console table.
