Louis XVI Period Trumeau with Oil-on-Canvas Painting, c. 1790
About the Item
The painted scene retaining good color, the four individuals set in a lightly-wooded landscape with sheep & a small cottage completing the pastoral theme.
The crest a finely-executed ribbon design, with meandering form along the upper half of the gilt border, balanced by a laurel design below. The mirror with an urn crest anchoring the moulded & beaded gilt border around the original silver-backed mirror plate.
