Brutalist brass and tin mirror by Jean Goardère

About the Item

Mirror by the French tin and brass artisan Jean Goardère (20th century), produced in the town of Orthez in the Pyrénées Atlantiques region. This mirror features an abstract decoration that can be interpreted as fish. The frame’s decoration is made of brass and tin soldering. Height: 20.47 inches – Width: 16.93 inches In perfect condition. This brass and tin mirror was crafted by Jean Goardère, a luxury artisan, whose business was active until 1986 in Orthez. He was awarded the title of “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” (Best Craftsman of France) and received the Coupe du Bon Goût Français in 1969 (an honor bestowed by the government). The frame is made of brass strips and decorated with tin soldering. A great object !
