Early 19th Century French Empire Period Giltwood Mirror with Lyre and Garland

About

From the time of Napoleon Bonaparte, this French Empire period giltwood mirror from the early 19th century features a sculptural lyre flanked by laurel branches. Its original mercury glass is surrounded by a square fluted frame with a single rosette at the top. Measuring 31 inches high and 19.5 inches wide, this small scale wall mirror would be ideal in a powder bath or at the end of a narrow hallway, circa 1810.
