Large Mid-19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Giltwood Mirror
About the Item
This mid-19th century Louis Philippe period giltwood mirror features a pillow frame and its original mercury glass. The frame is detailed with an incised striped pattern and an inset border of beading. Its original iron oxide under-body gives it a rich glow, and the burnished lines of the gold leaves laid across the frame create a beautiful pattern of their own. circa 1830-1848.
