Broadhurst Clarkson Telescope with the Original Mahogany Tripod
About the Item
The maximum length of the scope is 55 inches. It has been refurbished and lacquered in shellac. Fully adjustable in every way. Pillar is signed Observation teles special Mk1 1916; it was probably used in the first world war. The tripod unscrews halfway down legs for set at a lower viewing level or portability.
Diameter of object glass is three inches. Eyepiece has a pull out variable power and optics are crystal clear. There is also an additional astronomical eyepiece for stars, etc. Focusing is via a fully operative rack & pinion. Lenses are all good--no chips, scratches, etc. Barrel has a few very minor superficial dents which are hardly noticeable and do not distract from its handsome look.
