This is an original 1911 edition of the Illustrated London News Coronation Record celebrating the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary. This Royal Memorabilia magazine publication was published by The Illustrated London News & Sketch Ltd, 172 The Strand, London , W C and edited by Bruce S Ingram. It has 80 pages of vivid illustrations, portraits and detailed accounts of the coronation and its related ceremonies including facts, stories and occasions, richly illustrated and detailed both in colour and black & white. It comes with tissue protectors on most of the coloured illustrations. There are also detailed illustrated advertisements from some of the companies and household names that were trading in Edwardian England Overall it captures the grandeur and significance of this historic event. The large format is ideal for browsing, collectors or display and is a good easy size for reading. This publication is a remarkable addition to any royal history collection, this edition offering a glimpse into the pomp and ceremony of a pivotal moment in British history, with great historical and aesthetic value.

This is a good and complete English handmade wood "weighted" chess set game of 32 pieces, in its original box with a sliding lid, made by John Jaques of London and dating to the mid 20th century period. The chess pieces are made of turned and carved varnished wood. The bases of ALL pieces are weighted with metal pieces and the bases have a green felt/paper cover. Weighted sets like this one have a much nicer "feel" when playing. The pieces in the set are in the Staunton style.
