Braun SK 61 Phonosuper Radiogram by Dieter Rams & Hans Gugelot, Germany, c. 1962 A rare and iconic Braun SK 61 Phonosuper Radiogram, designed by Dieter Rams and Hans Gugelot for Braun AG, Germany, circa 1962. Often referred to as the “Snow White’s Coffin”, the SK 61 is a mid-century modern masterpiece that elegantly combines form and function. It features a minimalist cream-finished enameled steel body with warm ash wood side panels and a signature transparent acrylic lid. This model, Fabr. Nr. 122384, is a later iteration of the groundbreaking SK 4 and includes the RC 41 tube chassis and a stereo-compatible ELAC turntable with 4-speed support (78/45/33/16 rpm).     Additions or alterations made to the original: We installed a new shaft dial with the correct diameter size for US electrical and replaced the EU plug with an appropriate US plug. Wear consistent with age and use. The original radio antenna is present but will need adjustment for optimal reception. Acrylic lid is very clear with minor surface scuffing. Unit has been tested and working, given its vintage nature, internal components may benefit from calibration.
