About the Item
Unique church or monastery bible stand with perfectly hand carved Laus Sit Deo text.
This beautifully hand carved Gothic bible stand dates from circa 1890-1900 and it is entirely made of solid oak. This unique church bible stand is in very good condition, it has the most beautiful patina and it stands as strong and stabile as the day it was made. The hand carved, floral Gothic elements in the sides are very special. Firstly, because the details are superbly carved. Secondly, because the flower is carved inside what looks like a stylized trefoil symbol (for the trinity) and this also creates a unique depth. However, what makes this Gothic antique truly stand out is the hand-sawn text just below the actual bible stand. We have sold one Gothic stand with a hand carved Latin text in the front before and in that case the Latin text referred to a piece written by Mozart. We are not sure what this Laus Sit Deo text stands for, but it could very well too refer to a biblical / Christian song/text in which the Lord is being praised. This unique church bible stand therefor too is great value for money. But also, because perfect packing and worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days are complimentary.
