This is an antique cased microscope. An English, enamelled metal and brass scientific instrument by J. Swift & Son of London, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Presented in a quality case, the microscope of appealing Victorian craftsmanship
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order throughout
Black enamelled stand contrasting with the bright polished brass instrument
Quality carry box shows rich caramel hues with inset lock — key absent
Extending eyepiece tube over a rack and pinion main focus rail
Three slot nosepiece resides above a square stage with rotary slide holders
Stage engraved with a fine measuring grid
Trio of accessory objective lenses resting within the case
Bright, good quality rotating mirror beneath the slide holder
Engraved to the rear with J. Swift & Son London maker's mark
