This is an antique laboratory microscope. A German, brass and enamelled metal scientific instrument by Carl Zeiss Jena, dating to the early 20th century, circa 1920. Delightfully comprehensive cased microscope, from the renowned Carl Zeiss Jena Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order Pleasingly tactile to hold, the deep black enamelled body in 'jug handle' form Quality brass presents striking golden tones Offering of eye cups sit within a height adjustable riser Circular objective lens unit above the rotary slide stage and an X-Y movement slide holder Plano-concave articulated mirror in good original condition Engraved with serial number 73253 to brass barrel Presented within a quality carry case, with bright caramel hues and fine grain interest Case dressed with an inset working lock — key present Inset accessory holders slide out from the case with multiple lenses and eye cups Small box hosts a few vintage slides, including a rabbit's eye and small kidney to observe This is a fascinating antique laboratory microscope, graced with superb quality and a comprehensive suite of accessories.
