About the Item
An Exceptionally Fine Example of a Chinese Export Hand Carved Bovine Ivory Walking Stick of small proportions, last quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
This quite rare and exquisite “L” shaped handle example is superbly cast in high relief, depicting an ambundance of lavish decoration, to include Chinese Dragons, Flowers, Shamrocks and scrolling detail with a central vacant cartouche.
Condition: Superb condition for such an early piece, no evidence of any losses to carvings. The handle can be removed by a screwing mechanism, see image.
Length: (entire as shown together with a 35.5 stick) 25.75” (65cm). Width: (of handle) 2.75” (7ccm).
